Wedding tips for the lazy girl

Go seasonal - choosing seasonal flowers, and  seasonal food will save you hundreds on your wedding budget and stop you having to spend hours/days deciding what you want.

The recessionista vibe

Someone I know has decided she is planning a recessionista wedding. Her invites were sent by email. Her wedding dress comes care of a friend who borrowed it from a friend, who restyled it after buying it from a charity shop auction.

Her flowers are cut from her garden. The venue is her parent’s house and the food is being made by all her friends, with the cake being created by her mother-in-law to be.

All well and good except the recessionista vibe hasn’t filtered down to her wedding present list, her hen party, which is in Paris, or the wedding shower (she’s American).

Meaning it’s not much of a money saving event for her guests who so far have had to cough up money for a wedding gift, a shower gift and pay 150 pounds for lunch in Paris.

I’m wondering if the bride can see the irony or if like all those MPs erroneously claiming their expenses she’s pretending she’s done nothing wrong!

Exercise for the lazy girl

I'm about to go to the gym and be killed by my trainer for the next 90 minutes. My choice but one I like to whinge and whine about. Friends often ask why I put myself through it and the answer is I love it (and as those who know me also know I love to whinge and whine about it). However, after speaking to many personal trainers I also know that all you actually need to do if you want to get fit is 20- 30 minutes a day. So:

LAZY TIP OF THE DAY IS: Interval train. Power walk for 1 minute, sprint for 30 seconds, power walk or a minute and sprint again for 30 seconds - repeat for 20 - 30 minutes. You should feel like you're about to keel over (you won't) but raising your heart rate this way burns calories, increases your cardiovascular strength then gives you a good excuse to lie down!

New blog hiccups

Ha - just to show even the laziest of girls can set up a blog in half an hour I have done it! However, apologies for hiccups if you're trying to send me a comment and you're being told my credentials haven't been verified by the blog powers that be.

I actually have no idea what this means but my IT team are on the case (or at least they will be when I beg, plead and bribe my techno savvy friends to sort this out).

Thanks x

Feeling too lazy to work out how to get fit, find a man, save some cash and even turn the clock back a few years? Well perhaps I can help on this blog. I'm the author of the Lazy Girl Guides and this is my guide to life (the lazy way).

Tip for the day: save money while shopping by logging on to discount voucher sites. Try and
